2 cups sliced onions
2 cups ketchup
2 cups water
4 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
4 teaspoons dry mustard
4 pounds pork spareribs
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F
Make the BBQ sauce: Combine onions, ketchup, water, salt, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, and mustard in a large mixing bowl.
Split ribs down the center between the bones.
Oil a skillet and heat to medium high heat. Sear the ribs in the skillet until browned. If you can not fit the entire rack into the skillet, separate the ribs and do them in batches.
Place ribs in a single layer in two baking pans or casserole dishes. Pour half of the sauce over the ribs, reserve the remaining sauce.
Bake the delicious ribs for 3 hours. Turn and baste the ribs about every twenty minutes or so with the remaining sauce, using all sauce by two hours.
The last hour, continue turning and basting the ribs with the pan juices.
