2 cups unsifted flour
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup butter, cold, divided
3/4 cup chopped pecans
24 caramels, unwrapped
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
In a large mixing bowl combine flour, brown sugar and egg; cut in 1/2 cup butter until crumbly, then stir in chopped pecans. Reserve 2 cups for topping.
Press remaining mixture firmly into the bottom of a greased 13 X 9-inch baking pan. Bake 15 minutes.
While the mixture is baking; in a heavy saucepan over low heat melt caramels with sweetened condensed milk and remaining 1/4 cup butter. Pour caramel mixture over prepared crust, top with remaining crumb mixture, and bake for 20 minutes or until bubbly. Cool completely and then cut into bars to serve. Delicious!!
